Preview ~ A Fog

Dorothy has a vision of Birdwhistle's death. Distraught, she goes to the woods to investigate but the insects swarm around Ferneyclough and she is bitten and forced to leave.  She later sings a magic to summon a fog to suppress the swarm.  As she makes her way along the shore, the fog horns sound her warning. She chases Ferneyclough in the fog and he falls to his death from the crags above the cave. Scared by what she has done, she writes to Charlotte, then goes into the cave....

Hush now.

Hush storms.

Hush sand, hush shores, hush sails, hush shoals.

Hush souls.

The air was cool.  The insects gone.

The secrecy of fog.
